Our Outreach to Members
YMCA International Goa proposes to offer Family Resource & Guidance Programme, which will host short term courses in Personality Development, Team building, Time Management, Public Speaking skills and the Toast Masters Club. Other activities will be Yoga, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess & Carom, Dance Classes Dramatics, Aerobics, Day Camps, Competition for children & Outstation camps etc.
Y NEWS : BREAKING NEWS – (Current)
Ever since the YMCA International Goa has started functioning , the Y has conducted the following programmes
Republic Day Eve Dine n Dance : This Programme was organized for members on the evening of 25 th of January 2006.This was a Dine n Dance evening, where a Live Band Incaz played for the audience. Along with Dance and music there was DJ music, One Man Band, Magician, Games and Fire Works. We had a gathering of around 150 members and public, who enjoyed the programme till wee hours of the morning.
Right Nutrition and Healthy Eating Habits :- conducted by Dr. Narayan Dumo was held on 4 th March 2006 at the YMCA International Goa. Over 80 people attended this lecture, which instructed them on various aspects of following a Good Food culture for healthy living.
Presentation on Waste Management : This was conducted by our erstwhile Municipal Commissioner , Shri Sanjeet Rodrigues for a gathering on 4 th March 2006, where along with a slide show he had a very interactive debate on various aspects of waste management , segregation of waste and vermiculture.
Tujich Novsornni Kor: A stage play by local group , popularly known as Tiatr was hosted on occasion of lent at the Kala Academy for members and Public , so as to introduce the YMCA and its programs. This drama was presented to an audience of over 400 people. The Tiatr gave the message of faithfulness, love and repentance through humor, drama and suspense. The program was sponsored by the Information and Publicity Dept Govt of Goa.
Summer Outstation Camp : for children was held from the 11 th – 17 th May 2006 at Camp Lakeside, Nilshi, Maharashtra. 14 children repreented the Goa YMCA Panjim at the Camp , which had children from Bombay as well as Pune. The program include rappelling, river crossing, Tent Pitching, hiking, trekking, archery, target shooting, swimming, canoeing, Talent Show, Camp Fire etc. It was an adventure cum value based camp for children in age group 9 years to 15 years. The Best Camper Award was bagged by Mst Gavin from Goa.
Leadership and Public Skills course: A 20 hour programme in Communication Skills was held for the youth in the age group of 15 years and above. 14 young people participated in the course held at the YMCA, conducted by Mrs. Farida Dias, an International Trainer of repute from 6 th to 18 th May 2006.
YMCA Open State Level Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament : An All Goa State Level Table Tennis Tournament was held from 23 rd October 2006 to 29 th October 2006 at the Indoor Stadium of the Sports Authority of Goa. The Finals were held at the YMCA International Goa. All ranking players of Goa participated in the tournament. The winners of the tournament were

REGULAR ACTIVITIES
Under the ages is of the YMCA , we have set up the following clubs, which provides a forum for members to meet –
- Senior Citizen’s Club :- For only Senior Citizens, this club has been formed to provide them with a platform to interact with other Senior citizens and to organize their own programs for fellowship, entertainment, social service and information and awareness.
- Toast Master’s Club: A platform for people who enjoy speaking in public and inculcate good speaking habits. This club helps members plan, prepare prepare and present speeches in front of an audience, and also to be positively evaluated by other members.
- Women’s Forum : Women Issues are regularly addressed through this forum. Gives the women also a platform to express and exhibit their talent. Talks geared towards topics of their interest are organized.
- Y’s Mens Club : This Social Wing of YMCA invites members to join hand in causes taken up by this forum. Requires 15 core members who will be affiliated to the Ragional , National and international Club of the Y’s Men. The Club was sponsored by Nagpur Y’s Men Club , under leadership of Wing Cdr Cyril Brown , President of the Nagpur Y’s Men Club. The following office bearers were nominated – Rev Mathew Kurien President , Nelson D’mello – Vice President, Dushyant Kamat – Treasurer, Laura Alvares - Secretary for the Goa Chapter. The Installation will be on 9 th December 2006.
